New arrivals

New arrivals are unpacked Tuesday and Friday mornings. Fiction leans literary with a few sharp thrillers; essays favour culture, cities, and science written for curious adults. Translations are labelled with translator names on our shelf talkers.

We highlight small-press titles that struggle for display elsewhere. If a book sells out quickly we reorder once before deciding whether it becomes a standing favourite.

Pre-orders require a deposit for expensive art volumes. We hold them for fourteen days after arrival unless you ask for a longer window.

Email alerts are human-written summaries, not automated blasts. Unsubscribe anytime by replying stop.

We refine our offerings each season based on what regulars request and what our space can support without crowding. Quality of attention matters more than expanding endlessly. If something is paused, we say so on the page rather than leaving outdated promises online.

Visitors often ask how to prepare for a first appointment: arrive a few minutes early, bring references if you have them, and share constraints openly. Clear conversation at the start prevents rushed decisions later and keeps the experience calm for everyone sharing the room.
